You might know Chloé Skye from a couple of sessions of Animal Yoga for Kids that she has provided for our community at the Harbour Festival and in Arkaden.
While Chloé is a big fan of yoga, it’s just one of her many hobbies. She also loves creative writing, playing the ukulele, and professional “coffee shop hopping.” Chloé owns a content and copywriting business and has been maintaining expat-focused travel and language blog Chlohemian for over 6 years.
But we should let her tell us more about it herself.
Heya, I’m Chloé!
I was born and raised in New York City. I studied English Literature and Linguistic Anthropology at Queens College and my original dream was to become an English teacher. In fact, I taught English for 8+ years in the United States, Israel, and Czech Republic. During that time, I fell in love with travel and have visited over 30 countries across 4 continents.
I moved to Denmark in 2018 with my Czech partner, who recently graduated from the Robotics Engineering program at SDU. I was so excited to start my new life in this country – which is known for its abundant filter coffee (finally! Just like home!) and cake – and to break down the friendship walls of the notoriously closed Danes.
Although I am self-employed, I’ve tried to become part of Danish society by going to International Family events, volunteering at Inges Kattehjem and Magical Days Odense, plus a short stint in a kickboxing club (which Covid-19 unfortunately ended).
Professionally, writing is my life! Not only do I keep a blog (including documenting my experiences in Denmark), but I help sustainable SaaS and eCommerce companies write materials like articles, marketing emails, and web content. I’ve been called a Word Magician and adopted it as my official title!
So far, my talents haven’t helped me pronounce “Rødgrød med fløde”…but as I enter my 3rd year here, I hope that will change soon!
Thank you for reading – see you soon at Nelle’s with a laptop and a slice of caramel cheesecake?
